Upgrade from 12.00.1920 to 14.00.0778

Hi all,

I am trying to do this upgrade right now. Unfortunately, the duinstall.log tells me that 'Product 0 does not support upgrading from version 12.0.1920'. I have installed the KB3066933 service pack, so my 2015 is on 14.00.0778.

I have a couple of problems with this. First, the Microsoft documentation clearly states that  the upgrade is acceptable:

12.00.1920
Canadian Payroll Mid-Year Tax
KB 3066929
Canadian Payroll Mid-Year Tax
Version 14.00.0778 or later

Second, the error message states the version as '12.0.1920', but there is no such thing. The version should be stated as '12.00.1920'.

Not sure that means anything, but still, I'm dead in the water right now.

Got any ideas kind souls of the Community?

Kind regards,

Leslie

I know this is an old post, but what I did was install the yearend patch to the old software version and it worked like a champ. I think I put a blog post about this item. Look at DynamicsConfessions, I don't have the URL with me just now.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Leslie, you can not update from 12.00.1920 with Canadian Payroll 12.00.1905

I spent the better part of 2 days working out this with others in the community.

I needed to do the update from 12.00.1801 (January 2014/15 Tax Upate) and that was the only one that worked.

A big thanks to Tim for posting the link back to the thread.

Hope this helps and resolves your issue.

    Leslie,

    You must see this thread:

The 2015 Hot Topic is missing an important caution.

It is likely that there is something wrong with the 14.00.0778 installer.

Try upgrading to 14.00.0619 or 14.00.0661 first and then to 14.00.0778.

    Thanks

    Leslie,

Did you ever get a resolution to this error?  I am currently getting the same error message.

    Thank you

Hi Leslie, Could it be the reason as stated in the below thread. Also please ensure DU000030 is empty just before upgrade...
