Is it possible to define a link "One" to Many Purchase order / Purchase agreement in D365 SCM ?

Hello,

My customer wants to define one single purchase order with different PO lines related to different Purchase agreements.

Reading forums, I don't really understand if it's possible or not - Scenario : first create several purchase agreements on different released products. Secondly, create from scratch a new PO with x lines corresponding to released products. Then update lines creating a link to agreement A with released product 1 (line 1), then a link to agreement B with released product 2 (line 2), etc.

Is it possible ? if not, please explain the reason why ?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Eric,

I totally understand your issue and this is what i mentioned in my 1st response but let me further clarify.

    Your Scenario:

    PO-00001 | Product A | Purchase Agreement A

    PO-00001 | Product B | Purchase Agreement B

No, this is not possible as out of the box feature.  If i go further detail , D365 FO has that structure to link PO lines to specific purchase agreement but this functionality cannot be used from UI.  If you go Purchase order screen >> Purchase order lines >> Update line button >> Purchase agreement section >> You can create Purchase agreement link/attached/remove.

If you click on "create link", it will only show you Purchase Agreement A that is linked on Purchase order header level, and you cannot create link with different purchase agreement, let's say Purchase Agreeemnt B to different Product in the same PO.

The reason being, each contract could have different terms and conditions in terms of pricing, discount, delivery schedule, contract expiry dates of products which both parties agree and sign. I don't know what exactly post you read on the forum to create Several purchase agreements and then PO's but i really dont suggest to try any work around solution because this is what we have as OOB in the system.

Hi Junaid, sorry but it doesn't answer my question, of course we can consume 1 purchase agreement using more than 1 PO. I try to create 1 PO related to more than one Purchase agreement, PO line per PO line in order to avoid to create 1 PO per purchase agreement; imagine 1 PO with 2 lines, first one is linked to purchase agreement A and the second one (let's say a different item) should be linked to a purchase agreement D. Is it possible or not ? if not, why is the reason I have to explain to my customer ?

    Hi Eric Fresneau,

It's 1 to many relation. One purchase agreement can have multiple purchase orders but you cannot link PO lines to different purchase agreement even if all purchase agreement are against same vendor and it is correct from business perspective. The Purchase agreement is a basically a contract that commits an organization to buy a specified quantity or amount by issuing multiple purchase orders over time and each purchase agreement has a validity period, there are pricing tems, value commitments.

For example, You can create PO direcly form workspace and link that PO to specific Purchase agreement that belongs to same vendor but cannot link different PO lines to different purchase agreementw.
