Create Logins script and SQL 2014

Has any located a current SQL script to transfer GP user logins? https://mbs.microsoft.com/Files/customer/GP/Downloads/ServicePacks/KB878449_Capture_Logins.sql.

The one I normally use is not applicable when the new server is SQL2014. The error received is

"Invalid value given for parameter PASSWORD. Specify a valid parameter value". Or is there a setting in SQL that I can disable to use it?

Ignore that - the script still works fine for GP users IDs but not for Domain logins

    Hi Bob,

While I am at the end of a very long day, if memory serves, that is a SQL setting, and I want to say it is set using either the "Login" or "Login Options" facet under Policy Management in SSMS.

Let me know how it goes,

    Hi Bob

Have a look at this article for a better script that will probably work

    blogs.msdn.com/.../capture-logins-script-from-kb-878449-generates-invalid-object-name-error.aspx

You can use also use Database Validation in GP Power Tools to recreate the logins.

It is available as Public beta
