Hello community,

I have a scenario existing Accounts in the system that have the wrong option set value in for e.g relationship type. I have another file from another system which contains the correct data, and in that file i only have three columns. Account Name - Number and Relationsship Type.

How can I update the existing records with the Excel file which has the correct values? Any idea how to achieve this goal? I would like to compare these files and find the matching ones so I can easily update the existing records..thank you!

    Hello Denzo,

This can be achieved with an import from Excel. You will need to create a datamap and while importing the excel file, select the datamap and update the fields accordingly. You can follow this as an example, https://www.powerobjects.com/blog/2011/09/27/mass-editing-dynamics-crm-2011-records-using-microsoft-excel/ to achieve the same.

    Hello Rashmitha,

But i have for e.g 2111 Accounts in CRM, and i have another Excell file with the correct "data". How can i update it since the rows differes between CRM data excell and the Excell sheet with new data. I don't have any specific filter for a view i can export. I want to somehow compare my new Excell sheet with the "CRM Accounts" excell sheet, and then find the matching records based on for e.g Account number, and update them.

Or could i achieve this with Import from Excel? Because then i will have manually to go through each of one excell file and check the Accounts row in the CRM Excell sheet and update..won't be so effective.

    Thanks.

    Hello Denzo,

    Thank you for your response.

Since your data file and CRM data file seem to be different, we might not be able to import/filter it directly. You might have to export the data from CRM, correct it offline (manually) and then re-import the new file.

    Regards,
    Rashmitha
