Weekly Reporting

Posted on by Microsoft Employee
Running a Z and ZZ report are not getting us the results or figures we need. I have a call in with our vendor, but we a limping along with out this report. Basically I'd like to know how to run 1 report showing what all 3 registrars collected weekly in terms of sales figures and sales taxes collected. Z and ZZ reports currently have to be run on each terminal, but need these 3 to talk and produce 1 weekly report. Anyone come across this issue? Running Store Operations 2.0.2. Also all 3 terminals can't see/share transactions. If transaction #100 is produced on terminal 1, terminal 2 and 3 can't recall it. Can't all terminals talk together? They share the inventory database? I have questions in with our vendor support, but it's going slow. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Try Store Operations Manager, Utilities, Crystal Reports, Register Analysis Report, select Criteria tab, Date Closed, Between, enter desired date range, Add, Generate, then view/print.

If you want details by register and batch select Additional Details tab and check 'Show individual batches'.

A Z report is run daily at each register to close the batch. A ZZ report can be run periodically to sum all Z reports since ZZ was last run. The Register Analysis Report sums the Z reports for all registers.

For sales tax collected try Store Operations Manager, Reports, Sales, Sales Tax Analysis. This may differ from closed batch report since Register Analysis Report relies on date batches were closed and Sales Tax Analysis is based on transaction tables whether you closed batches or not.

TheNeos, thank you. I've played around with that and will dive into it more. Would I still need to close out or run a z/zzz report on each terminal weekly? I honestly don't care what each terminal is producing, because we are a small business, but do care about having all data on 1 screen/sheet of paper. I'd rather see numbers as a whole.

    Thanks

    RE: Weekly Reporting

    Hello Jim,

Have you tried active reports. Go RMS Manager > reports > Detailed sales report?

This can be trimmed to give you what you need. On the date use custom to get your week, once the report view generated, select from the reports menu bar the "Show/Hide columns" and tick only "Register", "Total Sales", "Total Sales (Incl Tax)", "Tax"... and any other column you are interested.

Once you have your columns, click and drag the "Register" column as first. This will sort by register if you select Select "Columns to Group (Ctrl+G)" and use "1 column" it will sort out by register. Collapse the columns so that only totals of each group are showing.

Finally you can save as memorized ready for next use and change only the dates you need the report for.

    Good Luck
