Cannot Link Contacts to Customers

I am trying to link my contacts with my customers.  For the first 10-15 contacts, I simply did a search from within the contact "Link Customer" and it brought up a link to link those two DB's.  Now, I do that same search query and I do not get that link.

How can I get this link back, or is there another way of linking those two DB's together?

    Hello and Happy Holidays,

I think I'm following you... On the Contact List you entered 'Link Customer' in the Search box and brought up a a link. The part that is confusing is you state you are linking 2 DB's (Databases) and base BC from the Contact List only allows for Linking to a Customer, Vendor, Bank or Employee (pic 1). Can you explain if you might have a customization? Also, make sure you do not have a Filter set that has removed the lookup from your original search (pic 2).

Thanks, Steve.  I'm probably using the wrong language.

This is a fresh, new install.  I have migrated over from other platforms (which are different systems entirely from each other) both "Customers" and a sales prospecting database into "Contacts."  I am now trying to link those in Contacts who are part of my Customer database.  It is there that I am having problems. The linking seemed to be working great for the first 10-15, then nothing.

By the way, no customization as of now.  Just moving data over and linking at this point.

    Hopefully I did better explaining.

    Bad Dad,

OK. What version of BC are you using? Also, if you took any record from the Contact List, you cannot click Actions/Functions/Link with Existing/Customer?

I have tried to dig deeper, but for the Link to disappear, my first guess is does it still appear but grayed out? Which them lends me to look at permissions. If this is being performed by you and you are the Super User, then permissions are not the root cause.

If you can reply and send over a screen shot of what you see that will help.

    Steve
