CRM 2011 for Outlook - Won't Load

Hi All -

We have a client that is on CRM 2011 On Premise. One of their users is unable to get her CRM for Outlook Add-In to work. She is running Outlook 2010 and has a Windows 7 machine. Apparently it used to work but stopped at some point. I went through some of the usual steps.

I went into Add-Ins and enabled the 2 CRM Add-Ins. Then I set them both to load on Start-up. Unfortunately one of the Add-Ins would not load on startup.
I got the following error messages in Event Viewer:

There was a problem loading the Microsoft CRM Outlook addin.  Close down Microsoft Outlook and restart. HR=0x80004001. Context=. Function=CAddin::FinalConstructInternal. Line=95.

The Microsoft CRM Outlook add-in could not be initialized correctly.  Restart Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x80004001. Context=Shortcircuiting IDTExtensibility call because managed addin was unexpectedly null.. Function=CAddin::OnConnectionInternal. Line=193.

There was a problem loading the Microsoft CRM Outlook addin.  Close down Microsoft Outlook and restart. HR=0x80004001. Context=. Function=CAddin::raw_GetCustomUIInternal. Line=82.

I got the same messages every time I restart Outlook.

Then I tried to go into Configuration Wizard and received the following error message:

To run this application, you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v4.0.30319 Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework.

I was unaware that .NET 4 was required for CRM for Outlook.

At this point I am looking for either a fix that I can try or my plan is to just uninstall the CRM for Outlook plug-in from Control Panel and then reinstall it. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

James.

I encountered similar problem and had to uninstall the plugin and then re-install it, thats painfully time consuming but that was the only work around that worked for me.

There is a new unfortunate wrinkle, the client tried to uninstall the software from Control Panel and received an error. Is there another way to properly uninstall it without using Add/Remove Programs?

    Cheers,

    James.

    Hi James & Kyle,

You can try running Microsoft Fix IT tool to uninstall the CRM Client for Outlook from Program & Features.

I'm having a similar issue with Outlook, I enabled both Addins, and then CRM begins working within Outlook until you exit Outlook; Upon reopening the CRM addin is not running. How did you set it to load on Start-up?
