POS 2009 - Out Of Stock Message

 Hi there,

 

Is there a way I can turn off the out-of-stock prompt in the POS View??? 

Currently, I have my items set to 'standard', and everytime I click on an item in the POS view to add it to a sale, I get an Out-Of-Stock prompt,  asking if I want to: 1) list substitutes, 2) back order, 3) special order, 4) sell anyway... How can I turn this off, and just sell anyway???

 

I have been into  store setting, options, POS, workflow, and unchecked the 'Display out-of-stock message for items with insufficient quantity option, restarted POS 2009, yet it still displays the prompt when I select an item for sale.

 

Can anyone help??

    Hi Chris -

    First, you might want to look at the item types. As noted in another post, it is recommended to set up items as noninventory if you do not plan to track quantities. You can do this by changing the Item type drop-down on the General tab of the items.

    However, if you don't want to see this message for any items, you will need to turn off both the out-of-stock workflow as well as the back orders functionality. To do so, go to Manager View and then choose Settings >> Store Settings >> Options. On the POS tab, choose the Workflow button. Then disable the "Display out-of-stock message for items with insufficient quantity" and choose OK (it sounds like you have already done this). In addition, you then need to go to the Orders tab and unmark the "Enable back orders" option. You'll then need to restart POS on all machines for these settings to take effect.

    Not sure on POS 2009 but in RMS you go into Store Operation Manager and go to File-Configuration then click on the tab that says "Options" then click on the folder called "item options" uncheck the box that says "display out of stock"
