Transfer to General Journal not posting to GL

From the bank reconciliation screen, when I transfer the downloaded bank transactions to General Journal, and then post it, they are not getting transferred to the GL or financial statements. Account Type I have as GL Account and Balance Account Type is Bank Account. I dont see what else could be affecting this journal where it won't show the transactions in the Income Statement.

Can someone help me figure this out?

Thanks.

Liz

Go to the g/l registers page immediately after posting. If the last entry has your user Id and a relevant time and date use the page actions to review the general ledger entries associated. Entries have to exist if the journal posted and the mentioned accounts were used. Good tip for general journals is use preview posting. This way you know what will be posted before it is.

Thank you Josh, they are posted, just not showing up in the income statement.

    Thanks.

The transfer to journal batch you choose is important here. On a batch level of a journal you can setup what the balancing account is. For your ease and required accuracy setup a batch so it uses a bank account as the balancing account. From what I understand about the transfer feature it doesn’t have all the information so there is some additional prep work from a user. The way I have described it will mean per line it will balance off to the bank account needed. Just a case of tidying up the lines which were transferred.
