While testing GL Batch Approval workflows we noticed that anyone in AD can be selected to delegate a workflow approval to even if they are not a designated approver in the workflow configuration. Can this be restricted to only allow those in the workflow approver list?

Hello - In testing this we where able to delegate a GL batch approval to a person who has access to GL batches but is not a designated approver. They were capable of approving the batch and posting it even thought they are not a designated approver. Is this by design?
Yes, this is the design so that an approver can delegate anybody else on their team, or another manager, admin assistant, etc that they wish to approve on their behalf.
There are different options in the work-flow setup as well that could be set up and would take effect if you do not have a delegate set up, such as escalating to the next approver assigned there. If it ever can't find an approver, it does default back to the workflow admins.
