Russian customers and the cyrillic alphabet

We're starting a line of business where we will be invoicing Russian customers from the UK.  Our source system is allowing them to register using the Cyrillic alphabet but when we try to use that data in Dynamics GP 10 we're getting lots of ???? instead.

Does anyone know if there is a way of introducing this font/alphabet into our english language GP?

Thanks

Have you tried to change the unicode language on the server and the machine? It might help.

If not you might need to change your database and SQL collations.

    Hung,

You cannot imagine how many laguages aresupported by the product! What you will need is to setup the GP to accept your language by adjusting the "Windows" unicode language into your language and make sure that your SQL was setup to accept your alphabets by selecting the correct collation when istalling the SQL Server and creating the databases.

If your SQL is already installed and the databases have already generated, please right click on any database and check the "Collation" of the database, if the collation does not support your alphabets then you will need to change.

    Dear Daoud,

Does GP 2010 support for Vietnamese language ? We used unicode and unikey program for the typing / input Vietnamese language to other application such as Office, Outlook… But we cant input to GP 2010.

Please let me know how can I do / change in my computer ( We used windows XP and Windows 7 ) , in server ( Windows Server 2008 ).

We are looking for the solution for months but still not solve the problem.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the questions. You would not be able to enter Cyrillic characters into GP if it is using an English language install of SQL. To have GP use non english characters you would need to install it on an install of SQL in that language.

However there are a couple of blog posting that can help you advance this. One from Mariano on installing a Russian version of GP that also has a lot of useful information that could help you:

    dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com.au/.../microsoft-dynamics-gp-in-russian.html

Additionally there is a third party addon called Mulitlingual GP that will allow you translate GP into almost any language including double bit. One fo the features of this application is that you can print an invoice in different languages. You can see more information on this here:

    blogs.msdn.com/.../revisiting-translating-dynamics-gp.aspx

Using this could also help you print invoices in Cyrillic for your Russian customers.

    Regards

    Rob
