Data Import error "The Excel file provided is invalid and cannot be opened."

Hi,

I've attempted to import contact data using both Excel online and downloading a static worksheet from a view, removing the contacts and then adding the new ones. However, the import keeps on failing no matter what method I use. I have used these methods hundreds of times in the past and they just stopped working today. Has anybody else experienced this and found a solution?

Hi Partner,

Are you trying to create a new record by importing?

If so, you can download templates for data import:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/admin/download-template-data-import?view=op-9-1

Go to Settings > Data Management.

Choose Templates for Data Import.

In the Templates for Data Import dialog box, choose the record type that you want to download the template for, and then select Download.

I faced the same but when i downloaded the same using option described by Leah Ju then it works for me.
