I cant get a pick slip to generate when we release a production to warehouse

Pick slip or wave will not generate when releasing a production to the ware house. I have a wave template built and work template for raw material picking.

Hi,

Any errors should be in the work creation history log. Did you reserve the raw materials before releasing and is there enough stock in the location(s) you are expecting the system to create picking work for?

Nothing is showing in work creation history log. The wave does not seem to be getting to creating work.

Hi, Some have noted to check the Work creation history log, however, that will not display any information if it is not enabled under Warehouse Management > Setup > Warehouse Management parameters, General tab, and under the Work fasttab "Enable work creation history log".

Wave creation and work release could fail for many reasons. It could be one of several missing or incorrect setups like wave template, work template, location directives, etc.: Control warehouse work by using work templates and location directives - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

It also could be because you failed to first reserve the inventory to the Production Bill of material/formula lines. These links may help

So I have confirmed the materials have a physical reservation, I have location directives setup for raw material picking. I have a work template setup for raw material picking and I have a wave template setup for production. When I go to release the production job I still am not getting any work created to pick raw materials. I have the work history creation log on and nothing is in there. That makes me believe the wave is not even getting that far to create work. Any ideas on what to check to see why I cant get pick work to be created?

Hi, is the inventory in the location that it will be backflushed from, i.e. the Production input location? If so, it may just reserve or pick the inventory if available as it would not need to create work to move it were it in the input location. Or is it just staying in a reserved status and no wave is creating at all to initiate the work? Are there any records created in :

Warehouse management > Outbound Waves > Production Waves > All Production Waves

If they are there and just are not processed/released, are you able to select Open Production waves and manually release them/

There is no wave being created to initiate the work. I have no records in All Production waves. I have setup my wave template but think there is an issue:
