User Login Audit Reports possible somehow?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Dear other Dynamics users,

I am quite new using Dynamics and got the task to establish a way to track the total number of user logins per day. Unfortunately, the dashboard option is not sufficient since it allows only to track the last recorded login. Thus, a user, logging in on two consecutive days will only be tracked on the second day!

Is there any chance to do so with a audit report? I established the auditing for all entities (contacts) and it now tracks every change there immediately (old vs. new values).

Any help is appreciated!

    Hi,

I don't think you can audit the logins - you can audit user access:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../audit-user-access

With 4 hours intervals, though (as mentioned at the link above)

Audit of user logins has never really been possible in Dynamics - it's a web application, it does not ask you for the login every time (you can open another browser window, you can stay logged in, etc)

    Hi ,

Please check this post by John Adali

Apart from this if you are looking for User adoption information, Organizations Insights might be an additional option

It gives information on Active Users and has Update frequency of 1 hour.

Unfortunately, the feature you are asking for is not available with DynamicsCRM Online.

On the OnPrem version, you could query the Audit table for action=64, which is a successful login action.

Actually (if you are using Office 365 / Azure), it is possible to report logins for Dynamics 365 Online, but you have to do it via an Azure AD blade.  If you launch the Azure AD blade for Sign-Ins and limit the Application filter to "Dynamics 365 Portal", you can see who and when users have logged on to the Dynamics 365 portal for your tenant.
