Rename Customer Groups - Will transactions be updated?

Hello!

I have a request to rename some Customer Groups in AX 2012 R3. My question is if I do a simple rename of the Customer Groups, will all transactions be updated automatically? or do I need to come up with some code to go find every single transaction and change the value?

I have tested this scenario and after renaming the group, the transactions such as Sales Order, has been changed accordingly.

I think this is fine, however to rename ID is not always recommended, I suggest to test this in devBox and act accordingly.

Hi Eduardo,

Renaming should do the job but it can take long especially if you have a lot of transactions already recorded in AX2012.

Why is it that you need to rename such a group?

Ludwig thanks! Looks like they just want new names for the Customer Groups and they will be creating a couple of new ones. there is no change in business process. I will rename a group in a test environment and watch how long it takes. Thanks again!
