Posting sales invoice before packing / WMS operations

HI All,

We have a requirement were the sales invoice has to posted before pick/pack (AWMS). went through a community forums and found that it is not available in standard (Not possible).

If we have to customize the same, is it advisable and what would be the right approach. 

Scenario:

We have order and a prepayment created.

Prepayment is posted on the same date of the order creation.

were in the invoicing can be done only after the warehouse processes. now we need to post invoice on the order date itself. please advice relating to the approach for customization.

    Hi Karunakaran,

    The architecture of inventory transactions and postings is not allowing to first invoice and then post the packing slip. You can consider creating a free-text invoice or create a pre-payment invoice feature like implemented on the purchase orders.

    Hi Karunakaran,

    Please do not try to customize in the inventory posting behavior as it may lead to corrupted costing calculations, however, as suggested above check if proforma invoice will be applicable otherwise you can customize to have a similar prepayment invoice.
