Is it possible to registrate as only a lead for a event instead as a contact.
Now with the update you can choose to also create a leads from contacts but we want only to create leads because we do not want to have all contacts in the databse
You say you can only downscale your number of contacts by contract renewal on your Dynamics Marketing license. This is true but this is on monthly base so it is not a problem

A lot of our customers with D365 use several marketing list with only leads, this is generated from the contact form of the website. With other marketing tools they can send an email to leads without connecting the lead to a contact. One of our client is confused, they can create segments or marketing lists with leads in the marketing app only they can not send them an email.

As soon as you import these contacts and use them in the application or they interact using the application (forms, events, etc.) then they will count as an active contact in your marketing contact database.
You could setup a deactivation/deletion flow after completion of that particular event, however, they will stay inside the contact database for a number of months. A Marketing Contact is active in your whole license period - you can only downscale your number of contacts by contract renewal on your Dynamics Marketing license.

Ok found it, then i have the following question we have an event where we want to invite contacts of an other partner company. We have a contract for grpd compliance for inviting them.
We do not want these contact in our database in crm just only for the event registration and webportal function so they can submit for sessions. After the event we do not need them to be in our database.
Any ideas how to solve this

As soon as a contact/lead is generated using the marketing application there will be a contact record created, as this is how the marketing cloud is functioning. Without the contact record you would not be able to interact with them through the application (sending emails, use segments etc.).
I do not believe it's technically possible to use the OOB features of the marketing application without generating a contact record.
