Is there anything native to GP 2010 that will allow me to print bar codes on the pick ticket? I would siimply like to add the ORD # in barcode format so my guys can scan it and retrieve order info on a desktop.

I believe you can do this with Report Writer. You would need to modify your existing report and add the field needed by the scanning software (this may be a calculated field as this often time requires some concatenating of * + SOPNUMBE + * etc...) and then a barcode font for that field.

Accountable's Forms Printer product and other form specific tools are also good options for this type of requirement.

I agree with Mike regarding Report Writer. You would also want to make sure you have the bar-code font

loaded on the machine

In report writer we created a calculated field:

"*" # STRIP( SOP_HDR_WORK.SOP Number ) # "*"

In the report:

Printed large......we have ours set for FontSize 16

Specified a barcode Font (we're using IDAutomation fonts)

Seems to work great. At least there aren't any complaints from the warehouse.

IDAutomation (Carole B mentions above) is also the same bar code font I've worked with for good results.

You may also want to verify with the scanner company you are using to see if they recommend a certain font.

If you mean in ReportWriter, there are several so it just depends on which one suits your purposes the best. We're using the "SOP Blank Picking Ticket Bin Sequenced". Some others are:

1. SOP Blank Options Picking Ticket

2. SOP Blank Picking Ticket Order Entered

3. SOP Long Options Picking Ticket

4. SOP Long Picking Ticket Form

5. SOP Short Options Picking Ticket

6. SOP Short Picking Ticket Form
