Manufacturing Order, changing status to 'complete'

An MO still has a status of released and is not updating to 'Complete' even though it has been received. GP won't let you manually change the MO status to complete either.  Is there a utility to run or some fix to update this? It looks like GP just isn't  updating the MO properly.  Also, would YE close have anything to affect this?

Your course of action is dictated by what you are trying to do. If the Manufactured Item was never put into inventory - is that a mistake (we need to put it into inventory)?

Or do we simply want the MO status to be changed?

    I'll reply after you reply.............

There is no stock for the item. Would that prevent the MO from completing? How would you adjust for that?

    Catherine -

I've seen this data problem before. First - I think you need to be certain that the MO has been fully received. I would look at Inquiry > Manufacturing > Manufacturing Orders > MO Activity. This screen will show every event associated with the MO. I would also double check the Inventory by checking Item Stock Inquiry for the FG Item Number as well. Lastly, the MO Variance screen has a field that will show the qty received - I would check this field as well.

In most cases, the Qty Received and the MO status are both incorrect.

If you simply need to change the status - try - transactions > manufacturing > manufacturing orders > edit mo status. Change top drop down to 'complete' - click refresh - screen should populate with all MO's that can be changed to 'completed' - find your MO - click checkbox - and then click process......

If your MO doesn't show in this screen - then you will probably need to change via SQL.
