Build and deploy scripts for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2

hi

Has anyone used build and deploy scripts on Microsoft dynamics ax 2012 R2 using Morphx VCS as a source control system. Currently our development topology, is based on a shared AOS so we don't  want to use TFS since it has some issues, hence we decided to use Morphx VCS , hence the question if someone has used build and deploy scripts on Ax2012 R2.?

    Hi Martin

    Thanks. Well what we are trying to achieve is, To automate the process of build deployment . For example we usually make releases(new customization) from Development server to Test server and from Test to UAT and then to PROD. Right now we do it all manual, using model/model-store by making use of power-shell.  we want to have some scripts in place, probably the one i mentioned above to deploy the latest code from development environment to Test environment and so on. So in essence

    1. Script should automatically pick latest code from MorphxVCS.

    2. Copy it to a shared location probably.

    3.Pick the latest code from shared location and deploy it on to the Test server.

    And what the build should do? If you use a shared environment, your code is already in AX (unlike if every developer has his own veersion). Do you want to fetch extract code from MorphX VCS and build an another AX environment? Or do you want just compile your application in-place?

    Deployment is independent on your VCS - it doesn't matter how you get your models. Is there anything specific what you're looking for?
