RE: Complete picking work manually from the browser
Hello Pavan,
This function works well when part of the work was initiated with the mobile and you want to complete what was already started. Your example of movement work is a case where it works well. A specific LP was scanned or selected in a different process and there is sufficient information available for the work to be completed. Usually, when part of the work has been executed, that screen will allow you to complete the work (provided the work lines have all required information).
More often than not, there is not sufficient information (often which LP to select in the location) and completing work in this manner cannot be done. When you pick a LP, that first LP often becomes the target LP so there will be no need to autogenerate a LP number. I do not know how LPs can be selected the would be interested in knowing if you managed to do it and how.
Obviously, the benefit of the Mobile Device is that it provides a user-friendly instrument to warehouse workers to help keep physical and virtual transactions in synch. But work is not required in all cases. In some projects, when creating work was superfluous and even an hindrance, we prevent work creation and an adapt the process to use a Movement mobile device menu to allow (for example) to move Raw Material to the production floor. In itself, 'Work' is a great way to signal and coordinate, but there are other ways.
If you must be able to execute work in this way, then it will more than likely require development. My advice to you, keep in mind that the best practice is 'The virtual must be in synch with the physical: if you can't touch it or see it, don't transact on it.'.
Regards,
Danny
