Item journal posting error

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

When I was posting Item journal I got the error

"There is no Value Entry within the filter. Filters: Item Ledger Entry No.: 28766". I checked that the posted  item ledger entry did not have any value entry record. Can anybody tell me why few times value entry is not created?

Is this related to the inventory setup field Automatic Cost Posting?

If Automatic Cost Posting is set FALSE, then value entry is not created? Is my understanding right?

Thanks,

Vidya Moger

    Value entry is always created...

    I think there is a customization or a DELETE via SQL

    Check whether any customization is done for stopping this  as in standard system it should create entries in value entry.

    Hi Amol,

    Thank you for the reply.

    There is no customization done to stop or delete value entry.

    There were only few missing value entry records in between which caused the error. I managed to add the entry number in the table from backend to continue my development. Now to understand the root cause so that it does not create problem in future in production, I posted many entries in different ways. In all cases value entry is created. I have no clue why 3 to 4 value entries were not created in between.

    One more question does it depend on amount? The item ledger entries which did not have value entries were having zero unit amount and zero cost amount but quantity=1 and entry type = sale.

    Check if in value entries there are gaps in entry No.

    If yes  -> DELETE.

    If no and there are no customizations, try to replicate the problem with same item same sales doc ecc
