Configuration of Management Reporter CU15 fails

Posted on by 75,730

I just tried using the CU15 or MR for the first time on a W2012 R2 server. When I go into Configuration Manager and click the DataMart option and then next I immediately get the message "Invalid username and password". I do not even get the screen where I can enter the credentials. Does this new release installation package have a bug? I believe the problem may be that I am log into the server as a local admin. Client will not log me in as domain admin or any domain account that is a admin on this server. I am going to tell them they have no choice.

This was the fix. I do not use MR much and was not ware that this option was moved inside GP.

    1. If you are upgrading GP as well, Did you check the box in company setup - ->>options to "Enable GL Reporting" for Management Reporter?

    2. Did you check your Currency ISO codes and make sure that they all have a value?

Yes, that did turn out to be the problem. However, once I got MR installed and tried to use the DataMart, it would not allow me to add any companies. None were listed. The only way I could see them was to use the GP legacy connector. Any clues as to how to fix that?

Richard, I believe you are correct.  Are you deploying Cu15 or are you just trying to view the Configuration Console.  In any event, the MR services need to be configured with a Domain Account.

If you are performing an upgrade, your user id AD domain account already needs to be added to the security console prior to doing the upgrade (I think that this might be the reason that you are not getting in).  (we often have our clients add our user prior to updating MR for that reason.)

You domain account should also be added to the local admin group on the server.

Lastly, If you are installing/updating MR and you are using the Data Mart, the AD account you login with must also be part of the SQL "server admin" or you will not be able to create the DataMart
