unposted entries suddenly missing their distribution data?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Last night/this morning, something happened, and any recurring or unposted entries that were saved into batches suddenly lost all their distribution data. If we go into batches, it shows the entry count, and the correct total, but if you print the edit list, there is no distribution, and it says "Account entry incomplete." These are all unposted entries, so it's not the end of the world, but it is annoying and a bit worrisome. it seems like the GL10001 table got wiped somehow, but I don't currently have back end access so I can't check. Check links did nothing.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? anyone know the issue?

We are running GP2010 SP3

I have never faced this issue "all of a sudden". I have seen some issues happened while posting some transactions, connectivity getting lost and transactions getting stuck at both work and history tables. But certainly not like this.

I am not sure about what to recommend, as this issue seems more like a failed disk read/write or data corruption of sorts.

I'd however suggest you to try reconciling the batch information for one batch and see if the reconcile clears out the entry count. If so, yes, we have a genuine issue that the records got erased from GL10001 table.

If not, I'd check the GL10001 table directly and see if the records are there, but stuck for some reason. We can then see how we can revert them back.
