Is it possible to Disable all the fields on the form with Configurations?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Is there a way to disable all the fields based on a fields value on the form with less customization but through configuration? Is there any other way that we can do this with out using Legacy form rendering or using scripts where looping all the fields to disable them?

    Thanks Francessco,

    1. We can close the form but it might confuse the agents or sales man about records status.

    3. If we add a new field in the future, we need to change the business rule also.

    2. I think JS will be the option here.

But isn't there a way where we can use field security profiles or something OOB?

I think business rule is the best option in this case.

    Hi Srikanth,

this task could be done throught:

    1) Workflow + Status change: when you save your form with a boolean field flagged, then you close the form with a particular status (as Ravi suggested)

    2) Javascript: as you suggested, looping througt alla fields and disable them

    3) Business Rule: implementing a BR which lock all fields when an attribute value equal "something".

I think solution 3) is the best for you.

    Please let me know.

    Hi Srikanth,

how about using the out of box status field? Set it to inactive to make it read only.
