I have a single cash register RMS 1.3 on WinXp (with main database) - need to setup firewall so that machine - so that my back room computer can run reports using SOM.

Help would be appreciated?

    The TCP Port is usually 1433 for RMS.

    You need to open a UDP port for port 1434, and a TCP port for whatever port your TCP protocol is listening on. You can determine this in the SQL Server Configuration Manager, under properties for the TCP protocol.

    The other way you can do this since you are on an internal network, is to allow all incoming communications in your firewall for the specific Back Office computer.
