I've manually entered our payroll into a G/L. I have two bank transactions: one for wages, and one for taxes. In the Payment Reconciliation Journal how do I match the transactions?
Hi Steve,
Without knowing the specifics...I assume that your bank statement has just 2 bank entries/deposits that imported in. And in BC you have multiple, individual entries that represent your employee payroll. The Apply Automatically is a 1:1 match, so you will have to match manually. Then you can only match one application to one statement line. At that point you can click Transfer Difference to Account which will create a new line with the remaining transaction amount that can be applied. So if the statement amount for one of the entries was 1000.00 and you manually matched 400.00, you can Transfer the Difference to Account which will insert a new line for 600.00. You may want to click 'Remove Applications' on the newly inserted line, and then proceed with Applying Manually. It will be a manual process.
The other option is to use Auto Bank Rec where you import in your bank statement. There you have a 1:Many match where you highlight your statement entry (left side) and match to many bank ledgers. Manual process there too. I hope this helps and I understood the issue.
