How to insert data in custom tables using eConnect in Dynamics GP?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have created a custom table in GP which stores exactly the same data like the Sales Order table. Now I want to store new Sales Orders to my newly created table through eConnect. Is there any way to create a schema for eConnect which will insert the data into my custom table? Please help me out on this.

Note that the OP said "through eConnect". In order to use eConnect to call custom stored procedures, you must first build a custom XML node. The only product I know that would allow you to create a custom eConnect node is Node Builder by eOne Solutions (www.eonesolutions.com/.../overview) or you can take a look at Tim Wappat's blog article on the subject here timwappat.info/.../Piggyback-your-data-on-eConnect-for-Dynamics-GP

You can do this by developing custom Stored Procedure which will insert data into your Custom Table and move them as values to eConnect for GP Tables.

This custom stored procedure can be called before eConnect Entry Line calling.

Okay. My scenario is like this. First I want my web sales orders to be inserted in the custom table, and then later I will take those orders and will transfer to SOP table. So I will be needing the taSopHdrIvcInsert_POST procedure as well.

Yes, you can edit the taSopHdrIvcInsert_POST stored procedure to write to your table after eConnect inserts the record successfully into the GP table. Likewise, you can edit the taSopLineIvcInsert_POST to do the same thing for the line items.
