Since upgrading to GP 2015 we find that the Account Transaction * Smartlist is including transactions it shouldn't. When filtering by the Account Number, the Smartlist is using the Account Index to pull the transactions. This is fine except for inter-company transactions where it is causing transactions for different accounts than the one selected in the filter to be included in the smart list result.
For example, in Company 1, Account Index 899 = Account Number 1140, but the Smartlist is also including a transaction for Company 2 based on Account Index 899 but in that company's GL00105 table, Account Index 899 = Account Number 9060. The Smartlist displays the transaction as though it was for 1140, but when you drill down, you can see that there weren't actually any distributions to 1140 on that transaction.
What can we do so the Smartlist displays the correct information?

I agree that bugs should be given a high priority. However, Microsoft pushes us to use their Experience site. I found that this has been created there and needs votes to be considered. Please vote here: experience.dynamics.com/.../
It's interesting that this is a "low priority" bug. No wonder it's 2023 and it's still there.
Thank you Sherri for confirming that this is actually a bug.
You got my cast for the fix.
Have a great time.
So I opened a support ticket with Microsoft for this and discovered it has been identified as a quality issue with a low priority of getting fixed. I entered a Product Suggestion to encourage them to address it. Here is a link to the issue. Please follow the link to vote for getting this fixed. Thanks!
No, we didn't make any changes to the GL during our upgrade, but we moved from 2010 to 2015. Based on another post to the Community Forum, it looks like the method of accessing accounts changed with the 2013 version.
I can't believe we would be the only ones having this issue, but I haven't seen anything that directly addresses this. I know I don't want to try and modify the query behind the Account Transactions View to work past it.
Did you made any changes in your Chart Of Accounts during the Upgrade process to GP 2015 ? or even after... ? It sounds strange that it worked fine (even for Interco Trx) and no longer after the upgrade.
I want to believe they had good reasons for making the change to the way this Smartlist is put together, but honestly I thought it worked fine before and the resulting data was more accurate than what I'm getting now.
Thanks, Mahmoud. Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated.
Hi Sherri,
From a (very) quick view I could get from your SQL script, it looks like the table JOIN is made on the ACTINDX field, which from one company to the other may well be completely different...
We don't use the Intercompany GL transactions, but I suspect that this can't work if the ACTINDX don't match, and you have no control over that when creating new accounts in the system.
Okay, it is the same default one. I just wanted to check on whether you have a modified version.
I will check and provide my feedback accordingly, I might need sometime since it is almost 1 am here.
