Analytical Accounting export to Excel

I am trying to run a distribution query in analytical accounting and it keeps hanging up with the following error message:  I have Vista on my machine.  Is there a fix for this?

A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

    I don't know how to read that stuff but I did notice that is hanging on EXCEL.exe.  Just from my experience, I have found that sometimes GP will behave oddly with Excel if you already have a session or workbook open and then try to do an export.  This is especially the case with Budgets.  So I make sure that when I want to export something to excel out of GP, I just close all my workbooks first, and then do my exports.  For example, with budgets, I will import one and then maybe try to launch excel and it won't work.  But then I go to the task manager and EXCEL.exe is actually running.  So I have to kill the process.

    Just my 2 cents...
