Updating an Enum via AIF/Web Service

Newbie question (AX 2012 R3): I have a combo box on a form that is populated by an enum. However, the elements in the enum need to be kept in sync with our Dynamics CRM system.

Is it possible for me to keep the enum elements in sync using an AIF service? Should I some how make the combo box be sourced from a custom table?

Thanks!

If you mean whether you can create new enum elements via AIF based on information from CRM, the answer is no. Enum elements are defined at design time, not at runtime. Using a table instead of an enum would be a viable workaround.

If you mean whether CRM can see enum elements defined in AX, the answer is yes.
