Confused on some Sales Totals we're finding in RMS. For example, I am looking at total YTD sales. The Detailed Sales Report (stock RMS Report) number is $239,936.84. The Detailed Sales plus Tax Report (report downloaded from CustomerSource) number is $244,909.84 (before tax). I have gone through month by month and added total sales, total COGS, and total profit (using the Detailed Sales plus Tax report). Those numbers don't match the YTD Detailed Sales plus Tax report, nor does the total sales number match the Detailed Sales Report YTD. We are also seeing similar issues with Tax Reports. Has anyone else seen similar issues? Resolutions? Trying to find the Report (s)we can count on for accurate Totals.

It's kind of a broad question without more detail, but I would probably start with breaking the YTD report down into smaller units and comparing it to the monthly reports to see where the discrepancies are occurring.
By default the detailed sales report won't let you group transactions using the Date column, but it's easy to modify. Just run the report, click memorize, and give it a title like "Date Grouped Detailed Sales". Find the memorized report file (in .../Store Operations/Reports/ ) and open it in an text editor. Insert
" Convert( varchar (10), [Transaction].time, 101) "
in the formula field of the block that begins with "[Transaction].Time". Save it, restart the manager program, and run that report instead. Now sales will group by date when you drag the date column all the way over to the left, and you can compare daily totals between the YTD and monthly reports to pinpoint where the differences are and get a better idea of what could be causing them.
