Business Central Online - Getting a full list of Object ID's and Descriptions

For those of us that are not Developers sometimes we struggle with not having the old NAV Development Environment these days. Many times, when I am configuring a License, or just because I need to know, I have trouble finding all of the Custom Objects in Business Central Online. My simple solution to this is to just create a User Defined Permission Set and dumping all of the Object ID’s to Excel.

Create a Permission Set named “TEST”:

Drill in to the Object ID Field:

From here you get a list of all Objects, including their Captions. You can send this to Excel:

This can be repeated for all Object Types:

Here is a Podcast my team and I did about Business Central Security (and beer!):

    Hi Simeon

Thank. This is a great method. So far I was going to Page 696 and then filter and take to Excel. But I can see your method can work for people that do not want to go to that page.

    Thanks

How do you navigate to the All Objects Page?

this link that works for us (Since we have one environment) but for multiple you need to add environment id between them.

    businesscentral.dynamics.com/

which has /?page=696 at the end.

OK, I see what Teddy means... "businesscentral.dynamics.com/.../ as the URL opens that Page. Would be great in Microsoft made this Page available to everyone more easily, not all end-uses know about this.

I always use Page=9174, because page=9174 have more info than page=694 and page=358.

And I like Page=9806 that provide table field info.

    I hope this helps you.
