Dynamics AX 2012 and Visual Studio 2010 Sync Issue (Data Provider Class Not Shows Up In The Query)

I'm facing an issue with a Data provider class which is not showing up in my Visual studio 2010 for report data provider.

Here's my Report Data Provider Class showing in the "Application Explorer" of the Visual Studio 2010.

but the same Data provider class is not present when I tried to access it from my DataSet of the report to use the DP class for the report.

I suppose to see the "Test_FreeTextInvoiceDP" in the Pop Ups dialog(Squared Red Area) but It's not showing the same.

It'd be greatly appreciated if some one could help on this.

    Hi ,

I had similar issue and the problem was that the active ax client and business connector configuration were not pointing to environment visual studio is opening.

after changing that i managed to see my RDP classes.

please remember to generate CIL when you create RDP classes as well.

    Regards,

    Bilal

Thank you for your help and I see I'm having the same configuration pointing to the AX Client and Business connector as well.

The only thing I did not do was the Full CIL after I created the DP Class.

I'm generating it now and let you know the status..

In the mean time I'm facing the below issue when I tried opening the Visual Studio Project(Say: SalesInvoiceReport) from AOT to Visual Studio.  Do you have any idea why this is happening or any help on this ?)

    Hi Sakthiananth ,

did you change the active Ax configuration and closed visual studio and reopen it ? if yes please restart the reporting services to make sure all cache values are cleared.

    Bilal

Hi, Thanks for your effort. I've tried that but still that Issue is there.

I can able to see AOT objects in the Visual Studio "Application Explorer" but it's not shows up in the "report dataset "Query"" to assign it for the report.

    Hi ,

Reporting extension and visual studio tools installed use BC configuration to figure out the AOS.

If you are able to find the class in application explorer. This essentially means that your Dp class might not have extended SRSReportDataProvideBase class.

or the BI services port is still referencing to old aos instance realted related WSDL.

(This happens in ax 2012 prior 6.2 release.  the Entire data base in restored with model store .So the BI services will be UP and running , but point to old AOS that was related instance where the back was taken from.)

Can you deactivate this port and re-activate this. Generally the Full CIL does this.I am not to sure what is happening. These are two things that flash my memory.

Hope this will be of some help

    Regards

    Venkatesh

"the BI services port is still referencing to old aos instance realted related WSDL."

I think this could be the issue, But I did the FULL CIL earlier any how let me Reset The BI Services Port and update you the status.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Sakthi,

did you try to refresh WSDL ?  Ax client configuration , business connector , there is a button to refresh WSDL.
