Export Item Data to MS Word template with Dynamics AX 2012 (Document Management)

Hi all,

Do you know how can I fix this warning?

Message: A relation between Items and Product translation must exist, or a data value must be entered.

  • in the data field select the "Name" (this field contain the Item Name)
  • in the bookmark field write the bookmark name which corresponds to "Name" in this case write "ProductName"

Thank you in advance

    Hi André,

I understood the restriction. I appreciate your help!

I have investigated the excel and word templates to recognise their potential.

I will explore the standard label functionality.

    Thank you!

    Hi Magno,

For printing labels you can get some information and inspiration on the following doc sites

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-print-settings-for-labels

    www.milesdata.com/.../4-ways-to-print-labels-from-dynamics-ax-in-the-warehouse

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Magno,

I did forget one restriction here. It is not possible to link to tables using multiple levels deep. So, from the InventTable, you can go to EcoRecProduct, but not an additional level from EcoResProduct to EcoResProductTranslation.

It would be possible to use EcoRecProduct as main table and then link InventTable and the translations, but then you would probably need to create the label from the global products form.

Why aren't you using the standard label functionality and change the/add a report design to meet your requirements?

    Hi all,

My idea is to export the item data to a Word template to print a label.

I have already created the Word template associated with a document type on the document management functionality.

It supposed to be a simple report without code and new objects.

    Thank you for your time

    Hello Magno,

What is actually the intended 'end result' of what you are doing? That is, what do you try to achieve here exactly?

Would be great if you could clarify.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Magno,

You cannot map the EcoResProductTranslation directly using this option as it is looking for table relations. Ensure you are using the links InventTable > EcoResProduct > EcoResProductTranslation. So EcoResProductTranslation needs to be linked to the EcoResProduct table; not the InventTable.
