Navigating Multiple custom related entities

Posted on by

Let's say I have 4 custom entities called CustomA, CustomB, CustomC, and CustomD.  An Account  can have  many CustomA records.  A CustomA can have many CustomB records.  A CustomB can have many CustomC records, and a CustomC can have many CustomD records.  How does the user navigate this tree in D365 CRM?  In CRM4, when you were on the Account screen, CustomA would be on the scrollable side menu of related records.  When you opened CustomA, it would have a side menu to see CustomB records.  CustomB would have a side menu for CustomC and so on.  In D365, I cannot get this to work.  When I go to Accounts and open Cases (or Opportunities or Contracts, etc.) from the related menu at the top, when Cases open, I do not get the option of seeing any other related entities.  What do I need to do?

Thanks in advance for any help on understanding this.  I need to go at least 4 or 5 levels deep.

Check the form being opened (if you have multiple forms) & go to form editor. There you can see the relationships which are added in the left navigation.

If you find the missing items, focus the left navigation by double clikc (or click Navigation from top ribbon), then you will be seeing the relationships in right pane. You can double click them to add it.
