Hi!
I'm not sure why I'm getting this error message when trying to add a new dimension value.
There are no allowed dimension values selected.
I've been able to add new dimension values in the past with no problem. Any ideas as to what would cause this?
Thanks!!
HI Sonja-I ended up turning in a support ticket with our partner, who of course billed us for several hours of researching the issue. They saw the same issue, yet never found the reason, but it mysteriously started working so I suppose it's resolved, although I am not clear what caused it.
Hi,
Review this option oon Dimensions page
Here is on we can setup not allowed value dimensions
I hope this will help you.
Hi!
Did you resolve this one? I am now having the exact same issue, so am keen to understand if you have resolved this yet?
Thanks,
Sonia.
Hi, Did you use the dimension combinations feature?
If it is difficult to find the cause, it is recommended to debug it.
Hope this helps as well.
Thanks.

Thanks for your response. Sorry I am just making guess here and I hope someone know the exact answer.
With page inspection on start from top of the page and go down and check those id to see the sequence.
Alternatively you can go to https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/?table=349 and check those id.
Other option is to try and use Edit in Excel then add dimension and publish and see if any error happens.
Thanks again for your reply.
I am able to run the page inspector, but I'm not sure how to interpret the results:
That screenshot is while clicking on my largest code, which is 036. Trying to add 039 and getting the error each time I try to add a new value with any number used for the code. So I'm trying create a new value with three digits, like all others before.
Thanks for your time on this!
It is strange. I have tried to replicate the issue and had no success to replicate the same issue. I created same code in different dimension and created close name but no sucess.
My quick question is can you check Dimensions ID using page inspector (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/across-inspect-page) and see if your set range of ID are to the point hat needs to go to 3 digits or has no more gap between them. This is just a theory and I am not sure about it.
If you go to other dimensions (the one with less dimension value) do you have the same issue?
Hi - Thanks for that reply. I'm trying to create a new dimension value...it follows the same naming convention I've used on all the past dimension values for that dimension. I've tried using different values just to test it out (thinking maybe I was duplicating an existing value) and nothing works. I'm not sure what "allowed dimension values" would have to do with setting up a new dimension value. And this has worked fine for me in the past. I'm stumped.
Hi
Looks like you have entered value that was not allowed based on this code. Do you get this error for any value you enter or specific wording or ....?
NoAllowedValuesSelectedErr: Label 'There are no allowed dimension values selected.';
