Relationship between Sales Tables and Production Tables with Value Entry Tabel

Dear NAV experts,

Currently i am making a Power BI report that contains the following data :

  • Sales Header
  • Sales Line
  • Production Order
  • Production Order Line
  • Value Entry
  • Sales Invoice Header
  • Sales Invoice Line

The client requirements are :

  • calculate the gross margin for each released production order.
  • Their KPI to calculate the gross margin is = (Sum of the Unit Cost value from Sales Line) multiply by the (Sum of the Cost Amount Actual with filter Item Ledger Entry Type 5 from table Value Entry)

Unfortunatly their NAV processes dont archive all the released production order and released sales order.  

This means that any record of released sales order from Sales Line are unavailable.

So i have an alternative to use the column Amount from the Sales Invoice Line and to use this column in order to replace that first section of creating gross margin formula.

My questions to you are:

  • Is this the correct way to calculate the gross margin?
  • What are the relationship between Value Entry table with Sales Order and Production Order table

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advanced.
