How to Transition from Revenue Recognition to Subscription Billing?

Hi all,

I understand that the Revenue Recognition module is deprecated after April 2023.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a resource to explain how to transition from Rev Rec module to its replacement - Subscription Billing? What happens to existing schedules for revenue deferrals etc?

Revenue deferrals is a huge part of our business so need to ensure that we transition seamlessly.

    Anyone have any input on this? It seems like quite a big change between the modules without much support from MS on the cutover from old module to new module?

    Your best bet is probably opening a Microsoft support ticket for this.  Unless someone here has gone thru the migration process.  My guess is you have to cancel your existing Rev Rec billings and recreate them in Sub Billing.

    MS released documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/accounts-receivable/sb-revrecsubbillmigration has been released since your question but having attempted to follow the steps it has not worked. The documentation is more of a rough approach and the imported deferral balances have no link back to the sales order, revenue schedule details is lost on the sales order and credit notes against sales order with migrated deferrals does not pick up and create and adjusted schedule or default deferral on the credit line
