I just changed my server pc and I received above error on 2nd station. Any one know what the line up for sql protocol, TCP/IP, NAME PIPES AND SHARED MEMORY,
I a have shared memory 1,TCP/IP 2 and named pipes on 3 is that right ?
What should I put on ALIAS protocol, I have 3 options named pipes,tcp/ip or via.
I am running sql server 2008express r2

Problem soved through sqltips.com
I use TCP IP only and disabled the other protocols.
