Are the business units using mandatory price lists? If yes, you could try making price lists for each BU that contains only the products that BU is allowed to use.
Then in the security settings, make sure that generic users are not allowed to create new price lists, and can only use pricelists belonging to their BU. This could be done via the permissions in Security Role permissions under Sales tab, Product entity.
It seems that Product permissions encompass everything in the Product Catalogue source here ( ), including:
- Products
- Units
- Unit Group
- Discount Lists
- Price Lists
This certainly would have some drawbacks as users would be forced to work with existing products and discounts, but managers could be responsible for creating products and discount lists.
