I've inherited supporting a Dynamics 365 Sales module. This module and the other M365 apps and Power BI can be accessed perfectly fine through a browser in Windows.
However. our IT service provider requires all users to access these cloud-based apps via Citrix and a server-based environment. So users login to Windows, then login to the servers through Citrix, then fire up their browser to access the cloud-based apps. The server based environment is pretty slow, and having the users fire up a pile of browser tabs slows it down even more. It also seems to lead to integration related issues etc.
My question is why the IT service provider requires users to access cloud-based apps this way. Not only is is slower than using PC/laptop but it seems we are left supporting dual PC / Server environments. i.e. users have a fully functioning Pc /Laptop with full M365, and yet have to login to a server to run Word, Adobe, Excel., Chrome etc etc.
Am I missing something here? TIA for any assistance.
