Converting a Location to a Warehouse

My company currently has a location set up but now want to make this location a warehouse location. I have been working on this for nearly 12 hours and keep running into more issues. Originally, the issue was that the bin I set up had items in it. I was able to get the items out of the bin, but when I went to convert the location to a warehouse, it said there was nothing to convert. I simply do not understand what it wants. I have tried everything that I know how to try and have exhausted every resource in my company; no one knows how to help

    Hello,

When you say that want to make it a warehouse location, was this location previously not using warehousing documents with bins?

    Regarding the errors:

    • It appears that the Inventory Positing Setup for this Location is not complete, which is a standard setup. Verify that all Inventory Posting Groups that will reside in this Location are setup accordingly on the Inventory Posting Setup Table.
    • I see that you are looking to convert this location to advanced. The error calling an issue with inventory in a Bin should be reclassed out of that location so that you can make the change. When converting Locations to Warehousing with Bins, there is a need to take all of the inventory out of that location to switch it to Warehousing with Bins. Once that is complete, all of the inventory should then be reclassed back into that Location into its respective Bins.
    • The nothing convert issues could possible a result a many things, such as no stock at the location, missing or incorrect UOMs, missing or incorrect lot/serial numbers or warehouse setup issues as bin contents not being defined properly.

    Hope this helps.
