We are on AX 2012 R3, just noticed Invoice Journal can be posted without method of payment, is there a reason for it? or there is configuration somewhere?

The field is not mandatory. You can consider a customization to add a validation.

Thanks for reply, what's rational behind this? without payment method, how can you pay customer? where you can add it later in payment journal?
Without the payment method, you can create and post payment journals (manual exercise), but generating payment files will be not possible unless the payment method will be filled on the journal lines.
I do agree with you that a validation would be useful to have.
