What is the purpose of the Additional Units field in Foreign Trade (tab) -> Intrastat (Group) on the released product form?

The additional units that are used for Intrastat reporting. This field is used when several products are sold together and use the same Intrastat code.
Can you give me an example of what this means?
Some Intrastat codes require that you report in a specific unit, rather than just weight (e.g. if you look up code 27050000, you'll see that it should be reported in units of 1,000 cubic meters). In the UK Intrastat site, this unit that should be reported is called 'Supplementary units'.
In the 'Additional units' field in AX, you enter how many inventory units make up this supplementary unit. When you do 'Compress' in the Intrastat functionality, AX will add up the weights of the items that are compressed, but it does not add the 'Quantity'. However, it will add the supplementary units (which you can find in the 'Additional units' field on the 'General' tab on the Intrastat form.)
