What is the logic behind blocking or unblocking Item Attributes?

Hello,

I'm working with Item Atributes and have come accros an issue. A specific value for an attribute seems to be blocked. I have been searching trough documentation but have found much about why do some attributes get blocked or how to unblock them. For more context it is a text and not an option so it cannot be blocked in the values list.

The item attribute has a 'blocked' boolean field. Even if the type is 'text' it can still be blocked.

The blocking filed prevents you from assigning that attribute to new items.

Items that are already assigned that attribute is not affected.

So it is a soft way to tell an attribute should no longer be used for new items.

Hi, generally, the blocked content will be hidden in the attribute.

If you force the input, you will be prompted for the error you mentioned.

You can unblock them below.
