Just create a brand new Database in GP 18.4. The company created successfully. When log in I am able to give access to the new company to other users - setup security. But the problem is when logging on to GP the company does not appear in the Dropdown for selection. Even for sa user.
What could be the issue?

Just a thought.
Are you using GP Power Tools with the Company Login Filter active? In old builds a newly added company would not appear in the list by default. This was fixed a while back,

No we not using Power Tools. It is a brand new server and we just moved 4 databases from the old server about 2 weeks ago. Today we needed to create another company - the creation of the company was successful with no error.
But it does not show up in the drop down with sa userid. I can login to another company and setup security for the new company but unable to open it.

Are you sure you granted access via the User Company Access window?
It does sound like you have already, but you got to ask.
Yes I logged into an existing company - gave the user access to the new company via the User Access Window. Also added security for the user.
When you go to Tools->Utilities->System->Delete Company and lookup companies do you see this company in the list?
This would be the same as running
SELECT [CMPANYID] ,[CMPNYNAM] ,[INTERID] FROM [DYNAMICS].[dbo].[SY01500]
in SSMS.
Are all the values for CMPANYID and INTERID unique?
