I have Product in the same product family that vary in "BOX" quantity. Product A will have 6 each per box and product B will have 12 each per box. At the same time the box sizes are different which varies pallet quantities per Product A and Product B. How do i resolve this issue?

What i am trying to do is import information. The current manufacture has a price list like this.

Customers have the option of purchasing 1 piece but are encouraged to buy by "CTN" quantities using a broken carton charge for shipping less than "CTN" quantity. How would i translate this into the data the system needs. I have line items that are sold by the CTN but different CTN amounts for each one and skid/ "pallet" pieces for each one.

Used correctly, the units of measure will calculate pricing properly if you need it to.

For example a pallet contains 12 boxes, each containing 12 widgets, so a pallet costs 144 x single unit price, with some discount compared to list price, or a smaller margin / markup from cost price compared to a single unit. Or of course you could use a fixed value for the price list item, but generally this tends to take more maintenance than a calculated model where you can change the price of a product and have that take effect for a single, a box, a pallet or a truckload.

For your scenario it sounds like you need multiple definitions of boxes and pallets as different units of measure eg "Box of 6" "Box of 12".

While this is more tedious to set up, it won't impact users because you will only have price list items for the relevant units.

So on one price list product A might have two price list items for "Box of 6" and "Pallet of 12 boxes of 6" and product B has two for "Box of 12" and "Pallet of 8 boxes of 12". The user can only select the correct combinations.

This post will give you an overview of the product catalog

Unit groups should be useful in addressing your issue.

    Hi J

The Product Catologue allows you to organize products and product bundles into product families and define configurable properties for products to reduce the number of  stock keeping unit u would need to manage. The box sizes shouldnt have an impact to your product management and pricing, but if it does you can add your own logic for calculating paletts etc?

Have you tried customising the Product Property Options to customise and add your own logic for calculating volumes and pallets sizes?

Let me know if you get stuck
