Hi all, I have configured Access Team and added the subgrid to the form.
How do I include this configuration (and Access Team Template record) in the Solution?
Thanks,
Henri

I am surprised that no one replies to this. Looks like the MS Dynamics Team builds a new feature but no way to deploy this other than recreating it in the target environment?
Access Team or any kind of team you create is subjective, thus considered as a user data. Hence not solution aware. Only those things which are concrete ( e.g. entity (which structures your data), certain process (which defines behavior), web resource components (which handles validations/operations) etc ) are solution aware.
But for your case, if you really want to transfer your access teams (or team entity data) you can utilize native Import/Export utility to work on data files supported by CRM or build your own custom utility to read from your designed files & dump data into crm.
Hope that helps !

Thanks Rugved.
Security Role, Dashboard, Chart are also user records but solution aware, I cannot see any reason why Access Team should be not. The fact that the Access Team is referenced in the Form Design (when setting up the subgrid), that alone is enough to justify why it has to be part of the solution just like Security Role is configured for accessing different Forms.
Access Team feature is just incomplete if the subgrid on Form loses the reference to Access Team record due to different Guid during each deployment.
Henri is absolutely correct. We are facing the same issue here and opened a Support Case with Microsoft. They told us, that they have to dicuss this directly with the development team and will try to fix this in a future release of CRM. Not sure, whether this will already be included in Vega, but that's what I am hoping for.
Otherwise you do have no Chance of transferring Access Team templates or corresponding grids from one stage to another.
Best regards
Stephan
Access teams work on guids, which is different in each CRM instance.
You could make a console app to export and import the data between CRM instances
other than that I can't think of a way to move them around
I would suggest raising this on the Microsoft Connect site so it could be added in to future releases but this won't be much to use to you know because it will take months before it got added.
Hi Ben,
thanks for your quick answer. I tried to copy a team template from one organization to another using a console app. This doesn't work either, because when trying to do so, (query teamtemplate entity) I receive the following error:
"Attribute errortype on Entity ImportData is of type picklist but has Child Attributes Count 0"
This seems to be a known issue in CRM online as described in this article:
www.progress.com/.../release-notes
I will try to copy a team template from a local system. Let's whether this helps.
We have the same problem after deploying a new managed solution from DEV to TEST instance. On the DEV instance it works fine. Inside of the exported solution XML file on your form you will find a reference like this:
<TeamTemplateId>{18cc5e13-7175-e411-9420-005056a51551}</TeamTemplateId>
but you can not find any configurations for an access team template entity with the related TeamTemplateId in the whole solution!
And also the form attribute 'access template' is lost on the managed entity and your are not able to add manually new access team templates for your own custom entity (except you try to modify the standard solution before). Microsoft has to fix that problem.
Let's make sure we are being clear here. The issue is not that there is a need to transfer actual teams, such as Access Teams, from one org to another. The issue is that Access Team Templates can be configured in one org, and a form is then configured to reference this template, but the template cannot be included in a Solution. This is completely parallel to configuring Field Security Profiles for secured fields, and including those in a Solution.
I have been reporting this glaring oversight since the beta for 2013. I thought I had created or at least seen an existing Connect entry for this but cannot find it just at the moment.
The only current ridiculous workaround is to create a new template in each system and reconfigure your form(s) to use that template. For every form that uses it. Every time you deploy that entity.
Following your suggestion I created a Feedback on the connect site:
https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions/feedback/details/1040938
If you are facing this issue in one of your Projects or in your organization, please vote on connect for adding this feature in a future release of CRM.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue yet? We're facing a similar problem in Dynamics CRM 2015 where the access team sub-grid loses its reference during each solution deployment.
Why did Microsoft remove the following support case from Connect has been?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
