We just recently switched from CRM Dynamics 2011 to 2013 and noticed and pretty significant change in how the Quick Find search bar works. In 2011, you were able to click on any view with any filter and be able to use the search bar to get results that were only applicable to the view you were currently in.
In 2013, regardless of what view you are currently on and what filters are currently applied, the search bar will pull results from any record in our CRM system. So, when we have a filter to show active clients that belong to manager "A", if you search within that view, you can get results like inactive clients that belong to manager "B."
This seems highly counterintuitive and render custom views seemingly pointless. Is there a setting or feature that allows this "global search" to be turned off or adjusted?
Many thanks.

I have the same question (0)I just discovered this "feature" as well. From what I can find it was actually designed into the product starting with the update roll-up 12 for the 2011 version. I agree with you though, for the life of me I can't understand why this would ever be desired behavior.
It would be nice if we could at least create new "Quick Find" views within the entities but it looks like the best we can do is add a filter to the existing one. But then it would break the search for other areas.
Here is a KB article I found discussing the change.

I thought I'd comment here to raise visibility and see if anyone else comes along with a better answer.
